Am I getting this right? Your politicians pay celebrities for their endorsements? I don't care which side it's for, if a celebrity wants to endorse a candidate, they should do so without being paid. If they perform...maybe, but again I think that should be considered a 'donation' to the campaign. Further proof the elite don't really care. If they were passionate, they'd do it for free given the few million dollars here is nothing for those big names. Out of interest, did Trump pay the guys who endorsed him?

Very few of those examples would be unusual for a party’s leader and a Democratic candidate in California, and some are presumptive. The nominee is likely not handpicking the order of Convention speakers for instance. With these connections, President Obama ran in a lot of orbits. I did find an article from when Biden stepped aside that said he and Biden had problems from Obama “quietly supporting Clinton” in 2016, but Biden’s still silly there if he thinks that’s the reason he didn’t win in 2016. He made his choice not to run, i think he would have likely won the primary. From what I have read, the Obamas have a stranglehold on the DNC, but winning the second election for Obama put the DNC way into the Red and Hillary came to the Primaries with a huge warchest that the DNC desperately needed, which guaranteed her party support for the nomination

Tried to Google this because I agree, I don’t see Hogan doing much for free. I didn’t find that, but did find an article about him doing a signing in a Piggly Wiggly in a small town I’ve never heard of (Fairhope Alabama) for his beer so old man sounds hard up for cash. Everyone was expecting them to, but I'm glad SNL didn't go all in on some whoa-as-me anti Trump skits.
There wasn't a cold open with Harris crying at a piano, or anything like that. The opening skit was largely poking fun at the cast pretending they voted for Trump to spare their lives, and introduced " Hot jacked Trump " and then the rest of the show was Bill Burr being Bill Burr, which is always good.
