You wouldn’t “replace” Biden, he would need to step down. Though suggesting that a lot of people voted for Biden in the primaries is a misnomer, very very few people vote in primaries, even fewer when the issue is not in doubt.

Biden steps down, there will be no popular vote for a replacement. Before August 7th DNC delegates replace him, afterwards just the DNC picks after talking with governors and congressional democrats.
And sure not many vote in primaries, moreso when an incumbent runs "unopposed", but this is the system we use. Not perfect, but better than just letting the delegates or DNC pick candidates directly.
From what I am seeing the people calling the loudest for Biden to be removed are the people who opposed him in the primary for his role in the genocide in gaza. Only a small minority want him gone solely for his age. And well the media wants more drama, so they can run this Biden story until the DNC convention and likely violence that will come there.

This is why I would not support this. They do it now, they will could do it again when say a candidate the mainstream people do not like wins the primary. And it is not like the primary was forever ago, most people voted for Biden within the last two months. Biden is the same person today he was two months. Some days he has low energy. Usually in the evenings. He likely is on those old man hours of waking up at 4 and sleeping at 8. If people did not notice now that is on them. But yeah, I would vote Trump if he is swapped just to send a message that primaries matter and I will not support a party that looks at the will of the people then go, naw this is who you REALLY wanted instead. Cool. I think you’re the vast minority. But protest away!

He already confirmed he is not stepping down.
And if he did before the convention have the Dean Phillips issue to resolve. Biden out of the race, Phillips should then be nominated. Marianne Williamson would also be back in contention as well.
///
People being named in the media as potential candidates to replace Biden are openly saying they will not take the spot if he drops out. Wes Moore the latest to announce it.
///
Seeing Dem pundits walking back their claims that Biden needs to remove himself saying they were just starting a conversation and not in support of it. Saying "Biden needs to drop out," did not feel like a conversation starter, felt self-explanatory.

The people calling loudest for him to leave are ones that already wanted him to leave. No kidding. The rest of us are basically just set to our fate that the party is nominating a dead man walking against a convicted felon that shouldn’t have any chance of winning. In fairness the way the system actually works is we vote for delegates to go to a convention to make the decision in a primary, not actually the candidate. If the candidate stepped down of their own free will the system is designed to allow for the delegates to vote for us, potentially for whomever the delegates candidate recommends. None of its optimal, Biden should have kept to his 2020 campaigns suggestion of a one term presidency. I’m going to vote Biden because while I think the presidency is an incredibly difficult job, I also want to fill a cabinet, a Supreme Court vacancy, etc. But the optics of the Biden campaign have been bad for awhile, and they’ve had a disastrous week.

I think even replacing her will hurt him. Will be showing a sign of weakness and spun as that person will be running the presidency for demented Biden.
Def agree though, if Biden stepped down earlier in the election season this could have been avoided entirely. And he talk from the start was maybe he should only do one term. But that was something to deal with in 2021, not try to force five months away from the election.

If Biden steps down now it will alienate a high percentage of hatdcore democrats, who will feel played that the DMC new about Biden's failing health and didn't push for this before the Primaries... However this same group of people are never going to vote for anyone but their candidate.

I imagine if Biden is removed the fight between progressive and mainlines will rip the democrats apart. Progressives want Biden out as they want a candidate that will commit to severing ties with Israel. Which if I understand that region correctly will lead to Iran really fucking that country up. Progressives get a second candidate that backs Israel they will scream dems no longer represent them. And for some reason Israel is the top candidate for the most vocal progressives.

Imagine you’re watching an MMA fight.
Fighter A has lost his championship belt to Fighter B and they’re having the rematch. Fighter B has changed the rules and stipulations of the fight, the FIRST time this has EVER happened in MMA history. Fighter B and his team even tried having Fighter A kidnapped (arrested) before the fight.
They finally start their rematch and Fighter A is absolutely demolishing Fighter B. All of a sudden, Fighter Bs team pulls out their fighter and brings out….
Mike fucking Tyson to finish the fight.
That’s basically the DNC. Communists. How do you guys not see the left are communists?
PS- Switch Tyson for Jon Jones.

The commander-in-chief is seen as prone to absent-minded gaffes and fatigue outside of six hours a day — between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. — and while traveling abroad, Axios said in a new report.
Totally Presidential material.

Honest question. - Office who enforces censorship. - Office who pretends the President is running the country when clearly he is not. (See previous post on KJP) - Office who arrests their political opponent. I mean, does it get more communist than that? - Office who allows MILLIONS of undocumented people into their country. I can go on and on.

The reason I asked, is as someone who does not live in the US, I often find Americans calling people and things 'Communist', when in fact they are not. They just think they are because they are told anything contrary to what they believe is. I really believe most people do not know what Communism truly is unless they grew up in it.
The fact of the matter is both sides can lead to Communism or Fascism in the extreme. No system is perfect and certainly no party if perfect, but both sides are on a slippery slope at this moment IMO.

The Russian Commies we're the boogeymen of 1980's American action movies.
If a Left Wing nut-job has run out of points to make, he calls his opponent a Nazi. The Right, will call their opponent a Communist. It's an easy jab.
But to be fair. To be fair... to, be, fair.. The Dems put a hit out on Trump and it missed. It was a mere flesh wound and all it did was piss off everyone. And now he's a martyr and he's probably going to win because The Dem's plan B was to face the guy in combat, but unfortunately their White Knight is an 81 year old dementia sufferer who routinely pauses with visions of Chubbs, an alligator and Abe Lincoln calling him towards the light.
