I fell of the Mandalorian half way through season 1 but then when I got through the slow part I really enjoyed it. Season two was amazing, my only disappointment was the realization the show doesn't fit in the current timeline.
Same with Andor, I'm more interested in now than prequels.
I really enjoyed the last season of Star Trek discovery, I feel the show keeps improving, but the writing loses something at times as they can't decide if it's about Starfleet or Michael.
I also loved the hell out of season 2 of the Transformers animated series.
The animated xmen series was interesting two, but the wolverine one doesn't hold my interest.

Really enjoying The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. I’m a few episodes in, it’s fun. @admin wondering if you’ve looked into this one. The story isn’t like Killing Eve, but it has a similar spirit running through it.

Holy crap, WandaVision ep5 is so damn good. Story is taking everything I loved about House of M and making it better. This is an insane way too to introduced everyone to the new status quo of the Marvel Universe and do so major retcons.

I've been holding off on D+ for a bit. So obviously I have 2 seasons of Mandaloreon and then Wanda when it finishes. Guess I'll bite the bullet once F&WS is out in full.

If you get D+ Ness also check out Hamilton. Amazing musical.
I may break down and just pay for D+ myself. So much great stuff coming out. The Willow series coming in 2022 has me super curious. Loki also looks great.

Haven't quite had the push over the edge though.

I know a lot of you liked The Silence of the Lambs and the Hannibal TV show. So are any of you gonna catch the premiere of Clarice tomorrow?

Hannibal is bonkers, just a grade a two seasons. Third season fell into all their worst impulses, but the first two are just incredible.

My thoughts as well. Two amazing seasons, then it all fell apart.
Clarice I am a hard pass on. Roberto Orci and Kurtzman were amazing together, but Kurtzman and Lumet not so much. I see this as a one and done season. Moreso since they cannot even reference Hannibal at all.
Really digging Snowpiercer. Daveed Diggs is amazing in it and Sean Bean is great as Wilford. Rowan Blanchard is likely going to be the big breakout of the show.

I'm getting frustrated at the fragmentation of the content these days, I'm currently paying for: Disney + for the kids as well as me Netflix Amazon Prime Cable for Sport YouTube Premium Spotify Family
Netflix is getting harder to justify of all the platforms, Sabrina getting cancelled might be the nail in the coffin. Originally I only had it for the marvel shows.

Disney+ is the only one of the streaming services I see being worth it right now. Netflix has not been good in years and Amazon's video service is rather light. Great free bonus for people who have prime, but good as a stand alone service. A lot of what is on Netflix and Prime is on free streaming sites like Tubi or Pluto.

I think the days of automatic subs are going away. Like I just see myself being a nomad bouncing from one to another. Catch up on everything I need, cancel and keep going. Come back a year later and repeat.

Originally I only had it for the marvel shows. We have Prime, Disney+ and Netflix. Considering paying for Stacked TV for $12/m that has some of the cable channels we watch and cancelling cable completely because right now we have 50+ channels and watch maybe 5 (NBC, HGTV, W, ABC and sometimes another). I just have to find a way to watch The Voice/Songland (NBC) & General Hospital (ABC) without also paying for Peacock & ABC online. Was kind of hoping Disney+ would pick up ABC since they own them.
Canadian cable companies are a rip off. Limited cable company choices and things like the WWE Network you can't just get it online, nope you have to pay them to get access and pay more. I think it's close to $15 now. I cancelled mine. Not sure what will happen when it goes to Peacock. Currently, I'm paying $6 for a channel just to be able to watch RAW and SD. Going to cancel that too and find it 'other ways'. Half the time I just scan through them so what's the point? I don't watch a ton of TV anymore so there's a ton of content on Prime and Netflix still for me to check out.
Currently, I'm going between Brooklyn 99 on Netflix and Yellowstone on Prime.

Cable is expensive here too... Which I don't get because I have it over the Internet. And you never really know how muck you're paying because they bundle it with your Internet, I think the cable portion is like $39 a month with no Movies just sport, news and shows. I don't get the love for Disney+, my girls love Puppy Dog Pals, Vampirina and Mickey Racers... But I find the adult content underwhelming. The Mandalorian was amazing and I am looking forward to the F and WS series as well as Loki, I saw the trailer for Wandavision, but it left me completely cold. If it wasn't for my girls Disney would be the first to get the chop and I would just be a digital nomad like @ness, catching up on shows. It gets expensive when you add them all up.

Yeah they do it like that here too but when we moved we were able to break it down and we figure we are now paying $50/m just for cable in which we are watching 5 channels. On top of that paying $35-40 for Prime, Disney+ and Netflix so we're right back to where we were.
I think Disney+ lured people in with their Marvel and kid content and are working diligently on their adult content like Mandalorian (also for kids). I'm almost positive we will see the return of the Netflix Marvel shows like Daredevil & Punisher, plus all new Star Wars and Marvel shows. I actually like a lot of their National Geographic content.

We go deep with channels: Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, the Network, HBO Max and then routinely find it easier to just land on some cable tv show marathon then using any of them. I need out of the cable loop but sports are a nice distraction (not right now, damn you Tom Brady), but going without feels tough.

Cut ties with satellite after football season since there’s no reason for it but I have all the major streaming services and really am hooked on Discovery+ lately.
Still got Hulu live for some sports though and it’s significantly cheaper than any satellite deal.

I finished Your Honour last night - and boy what a waste of some pretty great acting by Cranston and Stulhbarg. The plot wasn't great from the outset, I'm pretty good at suspending disbelief but a judge getting appointed to a case that involved his car? Come on  but somehow got even worse towards the end. I understand Covid caused some problems with the production (one of the actors literally hit puberty between episodes ) but that's not really an excuse for major lack of payoffs and some plot points ending up being completely irrelevant. They were obviously leaving some things unresolved for a second season, but I (and I imagine quite a few others) won't be bothering.

Random thought, probably already discussed: I think there's a very real possibility shows primarily go back to weekly releases instead of dumping a whole season all at once.
Game of Thrones and Mandalorian were weekly releases, and were watercooler talk with sustained buzz. Harder to pull that off when you drop all 10-13 eps at once and then nothing for the next half-year; how do you talk about the show with someone if maybe you've seen the whole season and they've only watched through ep 4? Or maybe you're the one who watched through ep 4, gonna finish it here and there when you can and by the time you've finished the season (in three weeks) everyone's already done talking about that show?
I do think, for better or worse, financially the right move is for streaming to go back to weekly. Keeps shows in public consciousness for longer, which means more staying power, which could lead to more rewatching (and that would help alleviate the issue of people who only sub for a month at a time).

I think that's just as much about the quality/format of the show than the release schedule though. Your Honour was released weekly and that was probably a drawback in it's case, as I very nearly stopped watching and definitely would have done had the streaming service it was on here in Australia not offered me an extra month free when I cancelled.
If a show is dropping an episode weekly then it's got to be pretty gripping to keep me interested for two or three months. On the flipside, a show might be a bit trashy but I can burn through a whole season on Netflix over a lazy Sunday afternoon then I'll probably end up watching it. Bridgerton was the buzz show for a couple of months, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the next Netflix show takes it's spot now it's starting to die down.

I wouldn’t even know how to watch a TV show having to wait a week anymore. Only show I still sort of do it with is This Is Us and that shows gotten so bad recently. Also; MTVs The Challenge is weekly which is still great to me and I don’t mind waiting a week since it’s not really a storyline based show.
My TV shows are all binge though. I want to watch it when I want to watch it. Going back to weekly formats would be horrible for me. It would be like taking a step backwards for no reason.
See; what OZARK is doing with their final season is fine. They’re going to release half the season at first and then make you wait a bit for the second half of the season as this season coming up is the Series Finale. Actually; fuck that. I hate that they’re doing it but it’s still better then weekly.
