We had hail today that completely blanketed the ground an inch deep. Tonight I had a hoodie and slippers on... In the middle of a Melbourne summer, it's freaking cold... Ironically... Our aircon died last week. Air con and shorts on Thursday, to heater, hoodie and tracksuit pants today. The last few summers have been quite mild compared to that monster 2019 heatwave. El Nina bought 3 years of above average rainfall and lower temps - but now apparently, it is over. And we are likely to see one of the hottest, driest El Nino periods on record. I hate the dry heat. Not just because it's painfully hot outside but as a country boy I see everything outside of the town centres turn to depression era dust bowls.

Beautiful day today despite a bit of rain earlier. Also saw 3 cuties(~!) @papaya in the lobby at work today as I was cleaning the windows. Maybe I should do that more than once a month!

Conversely, our days are getting longer. I mourn the loss of that extra hour sleep, but the daylight for longer periods makes up for it.

Colorado low coming my way (thanks Gyro LC). Couple feet of snow coming in the next few days. Still have massive snowbanks. First time since 1899 that Winnipeg didn't experience any temperatures higher than 0 C in March (that's 32F for you backwards Muricans).

We had baseball sized hail last Friday which was pretty wild to watch them land in the middle of the street and explode up and out and then see people just walking around ignoring that there are baseballs of ice dropping from thousands of feet in the air. Then we had a tornado touch down a few miles from my office (which is 50+ miles from my house thank goodness)
Calling for a repeat tonight. Never good in the Midwest when you see a high in the 80’s and a low in the 30’s.
