Comparatively speaking.
Moore was 45 when he took the role (Connery was 32) so he relied more on his wit than physical prowess to capture the audience's attention.
Connery always came off as a misogynistic who just didn't give a fuck. Not somebody worth looking up to, but he wasn't winking at the camera like Brosnan and Moore were. It didn't help that a lot of the Brosnan movies got dumber as his time in the role increased. GoldenEye started off silly enough and just kept pushing the envelope until we got Die Another Day.

Uhhh... But outside of the Daniel Craig stuff and a few rarities here and there from the old stuff, the entire Bond catalog is pretty silly. Only Dalton's movies seemed to trend consistently darker and more violent. It doesn't seem fair to single out Brosnan and GoldenEye. Stop picking on Pierce, everybody!!! :@ :@ :@

You've got me all wrong, I love Goldeneye, but it's not exactly the Bourne series or the Daniel Craig movies. It revels in being a Bond movie and takes some of the action set-pieces to another level.
It's the other movies that I thought became comically bad. A pity too because I thought Die Another Day had an awesome opening before it just outright gave up and became a jokey Bond movie.
Best Bond theme song? Can anyone top Diamonds Are Forever?

While Rises was kinda disappointing it was still quite enjoyable. Finally got a real Bane on screen although kinda killed him for a Russo swerve. Kinda surprised to see it and so high even if 2 of 3 are quality.
And just realized I used kinda like 30x.

I'm assuming my vote for "Batman" counted towards this?
I think this is the best trilogy ever made. Better than the original Star Wars, better than The Lord of The Rings. Best one from start to finish, hands down. All three movies are solid in story, flow, acting, etc etc. Best. Ever.

This was my number 5, I still stand by Batman Begins as the best of the 3. Dark Knight Rises was a bit of a drop-off and overall the trilogy can be a bit of a chore to watch which hurt it's ranking.

The Dark Knight franchise was a last minute cut, mainly because the last movie left such a bad taste in my mouth. IMO it is the single most overrated movie of all-time.

That poster combination is amazing.
Batman made #10 but then it got bumped off when I realised I had forgotten about Avengers. Dark Knight is great. Rises is pretty good. I like it more than most people. Begins is OK. A decent trilogy.

I'll be that guy, if we didn't know Heath was all into that character and offed himself as a result it would be harder to distinguish between Begins and TDK.

Despite Rises, this probably would have made my top ten, by the simple virtue of TDK being maybe the greatest comic book film ever created. Begins was solid as well. As a movie, I'd take TDK, as a trilogy, I'd take Captain America or the Avengers over the Nolan-verse on whole, as Rises was easily the most disappointing of all of them.

I would never watch a Batman movie that currently exists if it weren’t for Ledger’s joker. They’re all either too long, too self-important or they veer into straight caricature. But Ledger is a maniac in that role, and not a bit of his performance has dimmed for me, he’s just blowing every other comic villain off the screen. It’s not remotely close.
Somehow I do get drawn into different parts of Rises though. If you ignore it making zero sense, it’s kind of fun. I find nothing fun in Begins.

Somehow I do get drawn into different parts of Rises though. If you ignore it making zero sense, it’s kind of fun. I find nothing fun in Begins. I actually had a similar experience with Rises the other night. I think we saw it in theatres originally, on the wave crest of all the hype. It didn't even remotely live up to the hype in real time. I think we were partly predisposed to spite the movie, but then it also didn't make sense with its Russo-esque swerves and logistical issues. But various parts in isolation are indeed as good as and as fun as the previous movies. And I agree that the strength of Ledger's Joke does a LOT of the work for TDK. Honestly, I partly feel like they were trying to do maybe a little too much in TDK by squeezing in both Joker and Two Face. I do always wonder what Rises would've been like had Ledger lived and been able to reprise his role. Can he sustain the brilliance across to movies? Does the story for Rises change, and how so? The revionist in me feels like TDK should've just been focused on Joker and Dent, with the end being Dent's demise and reveal as Two Face (hopefully with a less silly makeup job). The Rises could've been about fleshing Two Face out in a more well-paced, organic way. Bane turned out to be a bust and a joke between his voice and the twist that totally made him irrelevant. If nothing else, Bane could've maybe taken on a role more closely aligned with his role in the graphic novel. Oh well... Guess we'll never know how this shit could've/would've/should've gone.

Rocky was on my list , I think around #7 and that's only because Creed helped rejuvenate the franchise. Had this list came out right after Rocky Balboa it would have most definitely ranked probably in the 11-13 range and outside my top ten.
I loved Creed but it isn't my favorite , I was quite surprised to see it the highest rated in both categories at RT. It might be my second or third favorite of the franchise though. The best to me is Rocky IV hands down. That has everything you could ask for in a cheesy sports movie and some incredible and emotional moments. The montages , the villain , the fight at the end - give me it all over anything else in the franchise.
Rocky V is shit on in every possible aspect and it deserves it - that movie is a shitshow and easily the worst of the series and one of the worst franchised movies ever. It took years to revitalize this franchise because it almost killed it. I still dont HATE it though , it's bad and I won't go out of my way to watch it but I'll stop and check out moments of it if it's on TV or something.
My rankings of the movies in the franchise:
Rocky IV Rocky III Creed Rocky Rocky II Rocky Balboa Rocky V

Rocky was my number 2. Rocky has one of the best character arcs in the movies and the last two films help stregthen that. Even V has grown on me a bit. It has some good one liner's and it was nice to see Rocky go back to his roots.
Rocky Rocky II (working his way up and being the true underdog, the heart of the series)
Rocky Balboa Creed (re-establishing what made him great and passing his knowledge on to the next generation)
Rocky III Rocky IV (fun, almost comic book like in their approach, just great action movies and Rocky at the peak of his success)
Rocky V (the pitfalls of fame and learning to live without being in the ring)

I don't think much more needs to be said about Rocky. It's an incredible franchise that has amazing staying power. 40 years later and we're still HEAVILY invested in these iconic characters that Sylvester Stallone created. Combine that with themes that just about anyone can relate to if you have an absolute recipe for success. It came in at #5 on my list.

Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed '76 - ***** Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed II '79 - **** 1/2 Rocky Balboa vs. Thunder Lips - ** Rocky Balboa vs. Clubber Lang I - ** Rocky Balboa vs. Clubber Lang II - *** 1/2 Apollo Creed vs. Ivan Drago - -***** (Throw in the damn towel!) Rocky Balboa vs. Ivan Drago - *** Tommy Gunn vs. Union Cane - * Rocky Balboa vs. Tommy Gunn (Street Fight) - ** 1/2 Rocky Balboa vs. Mason Dixon - **** Adonis Creed vs. Ricky Conlan - *** 3/4 (A little derivative, but a good star-making performance all the same)
Greatest Pro Wrestling franchise of all-time. Bring on Creed II.

Rocky probably would have been my #1,Rocky V being the weakest of the bunch, I still enjoyed it well enough. A franchise of 7 movies, numbering among them the single greatest sports movie of all time (the first, of course), and not one I didn't like, tough to beat in my book.
Still debating if I have the money for Creed II or not, but I pretty much never see sports movies in the theater (I think Waterboy is the last sports themed movie I went to the theater for), so just the consideration says my fondness for the franchise.

I was disappointed in Drago's heel performance. After getting the rocket strapped on him and not only squashing but killing Creed he forgot to bring the intensity. The fight starts off well enough, Drago just dominating Rocky and Rocky taking it to the ground and making it personal. However then it became too tit for tat for my liking and they didn't play up Balboa needing a knock out to avenge his buddy.
All of that could have been forgiven if Ludmilla and Adrian had some altercation after the fight. Maybe Ludmilla says something disparraging about Apollo, 'Winning this fight isn't going to bring your dead friend back' then WHAM Adrian cold cocks her.
Admittedly, I'm not a big Drago fan. His promo skills were sub-par, in the ring he was pretty clunky and I thought his mannerisms were pretty awkward on the whole. On the whole, I thought he was completely over-shadowed by the pre-match training montages which were out of this world.

Sub-par mic skills? "I must break you" is probably the second most iconic line of the entire franchise behind ADRIANNNNNNN.

Harry Potter is something I really need to watch , but eight movies is so much to commit to.
I said earlier that my daughters favorite was coming up and Harry Potter is it , she fucking LOVES this franchise and is borderline obsessed with it. At the age of six she probably knows more about the Harry Potter universe than anything else in the world. She's already probably seen every movie at least a half a dozen times and owns a bunch of Potter stuff.
Also she's going as Hermoine for Halloween this year , she loves her and some other Ginny(?) girl.
So yeah I'm happy it made #3 for her sake , I can't really add anything to the actual movie discussions until I see them. Little weird seeing the last movie being the most beloved of the series - good of HP for that.

He was the total package and IMO the greatest villain of the franchise because of his natural charisma and presence , his precise delivery and the rest of the package. Undertaker made a career of ONLY saying RESSSTTT IN PEAAACE and Drago crushes that impotent catchphrase.
