It's that time of year again. The anxiety is through the roof (if your team made it in) and the new season of hockey is about to kick off.

One game left for most teams and the playoffs are generally set, with maybe a few match-ups still up in the air.

The only spot not spoken for is the second Wild Card in the east, which Columbus currently holds on to but the Montreal Canadiens can steal it away if Columbus fails to get two points in their final two games and Montreal beats Toronto tomorrow.

In the west, Colorado and Dallas have clinched but are still fighting over who gets Calgary and who gets Nashville...unless Winnipeg or St Louis passes Nashville in the standings and takes the top spot.

Still a lot to decide between now and Saturday night, so sit back and enjoy the show. Once the playoffs are set in stone on Sunday, I'll post the match-ups and we can all share our first round predictions.

Don’t tell Foos but I’ve always cheered for Nashville out of the west. I hope they don’t pull a San Jose and never win it all. They deserve it and watching their games is so much fun.

I was alluding to how San Jose had a stacked team for like 10 years and never won a Cup.

I've also decided I'm going to never buy the Rogers NHL package again. Every game except the Jets game is blacked out. I paid $180 for the season and there's 3 playoff games happening right now, and I can't watch 2 of them.

Also almost every Canucks game was blacked out this season because Sportsnet Pacific gets exclusive rights and because I live in Canucks region they had almost every game. Fuck Rogers and fuck the NHL and fuck everyone. Waste of goddamn money. I could have just streamed Leafs games illegally for free. Fucking crooks. Fuck.

If the Nashville game is blacked out I'm going to go on a shooting spree.

Rough game for Winnipeg. Just couldn’t get anything going after Laine’s goal. St Louis plays some of the best shut down hockey I’ve ever seen. They were smothering.

Toronto Maple Leafs legend Tyler Bozak with the game winner. I’m sure Foos is happy about that.

Going to be a good series. I bet Winnipeg takes Game 2.

Sharks/Knights was a pretty crazy game in the 3rd. Knights tried to battle back but the Sharks snuffed them out late in the period. I didn't know the Sharks were this gritty, although adding Kane and having Thornton/Burns still is definitely gritty.

Reaves and Kane both got misconducts near the end of the game. I fully expect them to be stupid in Game 2.

This has Detroit/Colorado circa 1998 written all over it, except this is the new NHL and they'll just jab each other with sticks all game instead of actually fighting.

Since I moved I don't get NHL Network anymore, so I listened to the Blues/Jets game on my google home device. 75% of 1st round games are apart of the normal cable packages here in the states. I find it very confusing that every playoff games aren't on every TV package and some games are treated as regular season afterthoughts as if people needed to have Center Ice to watch every playoff game? I'd be livid too.

We're using the Hoosli Ukrainian men's choir tonight. I saw them live a few weekends ago when Nashville was in Winnipeg. These guys are outstanding. Jets also happen to be 5-0 when they sing. If you're in front of a TV when the Jets game is about to start tonight, definitely check in for the anthems.
