That is pretty much the report now..
Likeky a Ukrainian missile, however the blame is still firmly with Russia. As they started the war.
No nukes today.

US likely to cut aid to the Ukraine as the Bidengate investigations start. Bunch of the new lawmakers believe Russia is an ally of the US that was attacked by the Ukraine and simply engaging in defensive actions now. Believe Biden's support for the Ukraine is part of his long history of money laundering money through the Ukraine through his Russian and Chinese ties.
This is why you do not let Tucker dictate national policy...

Our political system has gotten to the point now where the goal of getting elected is to fundraise then funnel that money into ways you personally profit from it. So lawmakers are more into theater that will increase their fundraising, than actually doing anything to help people. And they do not really have to given gerrymandering making most races on party races, and the incumbent of the dominant party being able to fundraise to their party nonstop, while a challenger finds it almost impossible to take an incumbent out in a primary. It happens like AOC's rise to power, but it is pretty rare.
And these theater people think the rest of the world should revolve around the US, so who cares what happens outside of our borders as a result of their performances that involve other countries. Look at Trump in China. He kept trashing them then and putting up tariffs then the GOP freaked out when they put up tariffs against the US. Now the GOP today accused the Ukraine and China of laundering money for Biden and will start a formal congressional investigation of it day 1 when they get control. It is insanity. They literally believe their fake news will become the global narrative.

Belarus pilots flying with special Russian warheads now. Believed if Putin wishes to use nukes, Belarus will do it now for him as he pressures them into the war.
Putin claimed that the US sending missile defense stuff to the Ukraine violates their line in the sand.

Haven't posted much in this recently. We hit the one year mark for this war. Evacuees are coming to Canada and other countries in droves as there's no jobs and most of Ukraine is suffering from water & power outages and of course there's still bombing. There doesn't seem to be an end in sight and Putin still likes to throw the word 'nuclear' around like the bully he is.
I dropped off some household donations to the Free Store here in Edmonton and it was wall to wall with newcomer families looking for anything to begin their new life here. I ended up driving a family who had arrived here 5 days ago back to their host family and made some good connections for them. I cried a couple times on the way home, because it was a little overwhelming. This is just one group of people. There's so many including here in our own country that need help. I think of the Syrians and Afghanis who have escaped war and are living in refugee camps sometimes years before they can get to Canada or another country, the fallout from the earthquake in Turkey, and so many others that live in poverty and war. Then there are all those suffering here. Sometimes, I just don't understand it.
I had a nice talk with Mrs. RT about it, because she encountered it when she was away in Cuba. And then I spoke to my mom about it, who has always worked/volunteered with the down trodden, and who lived and volunteered in Africa for 2 years. Even though I want to save the world, it's just not feasible. All I can do is help those I can. Knowing by helping them, I am helping others indirectly. It's a small comfort.

I been following things, but did not seem like many here cared. At the point where either the world gives Putin a fifth of the Ukraine or does something. Otherwise the sides are pretty dug in with Putin shelling the Ukraine, and the Ukraine attacking Putin's forces where ever they can and doing sabotage in Russia proper with drones. But battle lines have not really moved in a year and the end plan for Ukraine is economic collapse of Russia due to putting so many resources into the war. Russia meanwhile is hoping to get the GOP in the US to cut aid to the Ukraine via propaganda that Fox News repeats, and then overwhelm the Ukraine forces when the cash runs out.

Finland is building a 200km fence across its Russian border, fearing Russia could use migrants to exert political pressure on Helsinki.
Its said, the border fence was “indispensable” to stop large-scale illegal entries from Russian territories.
Finland saw an influx of Russians in September after President Vladimir Putin ordered the mobilisation of reservists to fight in Ukraine.
Estonia, Latvia and Poland have also increased security on their borders with Russia or are planning to do so.

It's a barbed wire fence.
But I guess, the last thing any neighbouring countries want is a mass humanitarian crisis. Even a few hundred people coming across the border quickly puts a burden on the host-country. Either refugees are on the streets or they're being cared for by the state. And while you'd like to think every one of these people is good natured, but that's not always the case.

This is such a stupid war... From every side. It feels more like theatre than a conflict. Zelensky visits Washington and attends Congress dressed like he crawled out of a fox hole... That is pure political theatre.
Also, the idea that Ukraine is somehow winning the war is laughable. Putin is concerned about maintaining the right narrative to his domestic audience. At the moment, that is all about rescuing Russian people from the oppression of the Neo Nazi's
Setting aside for a moment whether that is right or wrong, the only reason Kyiv is no more than a crater in the ground is because Russia is not waging all out war. The day they do, Ukraine is finished.
I am not speaking against defending your homeland, just that the whole thing is nonsense. The West drip feeds money and weapons into Ukraine, not at a level required to win the war... But just enough to slow the Russians down while killing a whole lot of people. Estimates have the loss of Ukrainian life at around 170k. After banning fighting aged males from leaving the country, they are now facing conscription.
And let's be clear this isn't conscription to fight a noble and winnable battle, this is putting people into a meatgrinder that Ukraine has ZERO chance of winning.
What is the end goal there? Is it the idea that if Russia loses enough tanks they will give up? Where is the dialogue and discussion that has gone with every conflict in the history of the world. Not sure the Ukrainian people like being swept of the streets to die for a shitty piece of farmland... I wouldn't be happy to die to defend Townsville in an unwinnable war.

Imagine The Russian Army is Brock Lesnar and Putin is Paul Heyman and he has been out here hyping the beast incarnate for years. And everyone's believed him. Everyone is scared shitless. Paul Heyman is talking all sorts of nonsense about Brock kicking everyone's ass and kicking John Cena's ass and taking everyone's titles. Brocks dropped a few jobbers on their heads to send a message and no-one wants to fight him because those jobbers are paralyzed now. And then Brock Lesnar finally accepts a match against Elias of all people on RAW, because Elias looked at Paul Heyman cock-eyed in Gorilla. And not only is he not kicking Elias' ass, Elias is throwing some pretty stiff potatoes back at Brock and holding his own - not only that, Triple H and Vince McMahon are throwing chairs to Elias to smack Brock in the head with.
Sure Elias is busted open, but he's still standing. Brock is gassed out and looking tired. The announcer's table is broken. The barrier is smashed in. There's chairs and shit everywhere. Brock is looking around lost as he can't find Paul Heyman to tell him what to do next.. he's left, he's safely back in the locker-room. Now, we're 2.5 hours into a match with a 20 minute time draw and at any point, WWE could just send John Cena out there to drop Brock with a AA and pop the bored-as-shit crowd, but WWE is like, " Nah fuck it. Paul's a dickhead, we'd rather just let his boy eventually collapse and die and that way Brock will look like a bitch getting his ass kicked by Elias - or at least that's what we're going to tell people what happen.. Elias kicked Brock's ass and Paul Heyman ran back to Philadelphia and was never seen again "
So in short, WWE is booking Brock to look weak to destroy his credibility and the credibility of his manager, Paul Heyman. Because they'd rather see them humiliated than put out of their misery or having the ability to safely get up and walk away, recover, regroup and come back for another round in the future.
Do I need to translate?

The people of Ukraine would rather die as the Ukraine than join Russia. That is the point of the war.
The war will end when the Russian economy cannot sustain it any longer. And that is why the US is involved, to tank their economy as retaliation for them meddling in our politics. I suspect if Biden is reelected Russia finds a path to peace as their only real hope is for the GOP to elect someone who believes Russia is an ally of the US and cuts all funding to the Ukraine.

They said that about the Crimea. Once Putin had that, he took Donbas. They give Putin the Donbas, he will simply take everything West of the Dnieper. Then everything East until the Ukraine is part of Russia again.
Russia can end the war anytime they want since they are the aggressor by leaving the Ukraine.

The issue is Putin says he just wants this region and that region, but if you just roll over and give it to him, what's to stop him from taking more? Right now everyone's first line of defence is Ukraine. That's why you have Axis and Allies going on behind the scenes and who's paying the price, these poor people who actually love their country and don't/didn't want to leave it but don't want to die either. It's a bit different than Syrian and Afghani refugees (though none are more important than the other), as they are trying to leave a country torn apart from powers within aka Civil War. This is a particularly sad story: www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/80-afghan-citizens-dead-italian-shipwreck-taliban-foreign-ministry-2023-02-28/The dictators make it so people have no choice but to leave or die and they take these chances because it's better than staying.

Russian propaganda in right wing media spaces claims Ukraine is the aggressor and killing their citizens because they do not want to give a third of their country to the Ukraine. In this narrative Russia is the good guys just trying to stop the Ukraine from taking over Russian territory within the Ukraine.
This of course falls apart when you realize that these "Russian" states in the Ukraine are being shelled into submission by Russia.

Putin seems intent on restoring the USSR or a facsimile, probably for his own legacy in the history books. People were forced into the USSR once and now that they're free of it, they ain't going back.
Some factors the war is still going - 1) Russia has the USSR's Security Council veto, 2) the US is avoiding going to war with another nuclear power, 3) the various allies supplying Ukraine disagree on what types of advanced weapons to send and the US is trying to keep the allies united.

While the Axis powers are rallying behind Putin. Makes no mistake this war is drawing lines in the sand and showing who is on what side.
I picked up one of the mothers of the girls' I hosted in June yesterday from the airport yesterday. This woman wept when she told me how grateful she was to me for picking her up, for taking care of her daughter when she could not. I couldn't understand a word she said, but as a human, a mother, I knew exactly what she was saying. She didn't want to leave Ukraine, but there's no work, no money, no power, no water. Many of them love Europe, but there are no jobs. And much of Europe has already been overrun with Ukrainian & Syrian refugees. So they come have come here for some semblance of 'safety' and perhaps a new beginning. Honestly, I have received more than I have given in this.

I am not Pro-Russia, I am against what Putin in doing in Eastern Ukraine. It is possible to balance that against being very nervous about what Zelensky is currently and is becoming.
Is it strange the media won't talk about:
Banning opposition parties and claiming they are all pro-Russia Banning churches for being pro-Russia Banning all TV except for state controlled media
He is behaving like a dictator, currently he refuses to negotiate with Russia as long as Putin heads the government. Yes, Putin is an ass, but every war in history has involved dialogue between the nations at war. Even North and South Korea managed a ceasefire without either side having to surrender their claims... I don't know whether this is possible or not, but I will be dammed if I join the rest of the world clapping for Zelensky like reatarded seals as he plays Russain Roulette (pun intended) with a nuclear power.

War will always be complicated.
I doubt a cease fire or negotiations with Russia is possible - at any time, Putin could stop. But has chosen not to. The feeling with most is Ukraine is Europe's line of defence and that Putin doesn't stop if he topples Ukraine.
He has sold his supporters on Ukraine being stolen from Russia (it's a complicated history) and is ran by bloodthirsty Nazis. I'm sure he's got similar feelings or narratives about most of Europe and probably has hurt feelings from 2 World Wars that he wasn't even part of and have since been resolved.
What's the old saying - you don't negotiate with terrorists. Putin is in bed with war lords, criminals, biker gangs and likely runs a death squad for shits and giggles. You can't negotiate with a man like that. If you lay down your arms for the good of the innocent, a man like Putin will eat you alive.
