A bomb was allegedly straped to the landing gear of the plane that killed the Wagnar boss.
Apparently, Putin lured Prigozhin back to Russia with the old " yeah, it's all good Bro " and it's now being called a Mafia style hit.
Today, the cemetery where the Wagnarites are buried has been cleared and everything has been demolished, with the tombstones piled up in a heap.
Christ, talk about starting a civil war..

Kremlin getting very despite now to reclaim losses. They are ordering troops into suicide attacks. Russia's 1442nd Regiment left all of their gear on the field and defected rather than die in such an attack. They were order to take a heavily defended area with artillery that was not working, which left them only small arms. They were also expected to rush in through Ukraine artillery fire.
Morale seems to be breaking hard as Russian hardware fails, and command sees the troops as expendable.

Another red line being crossed. US sending ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine. These are what we used to cripple Iraq before the invasion. Nasty fuckers as they explode before they hit a target, which destroys the target, then everything in the area. Almost certainly these going into Russia.

After Musk interfered with the drone attacks in the Black Sea, Ukraine moved to just using cruise missiles. After raining a set of missiles down onto the Russian fleet headquarters, they are reporting they killed the fleet commander and destroyed the headquarters beyond repair.
Russia worried they may not be able to hold Sevastopol for much longer and should it fall, Ukraine gets a major foothold back in the Crimea and will force the Russian fleet out of that area of the Black Sea.

Putin plans to celebrate his birthday by once again prepping to test Skyfall, a nuclear powered missile. It is a Russian second strike weapon when fully armed will be used for mutually assured destruction. Should it malfunction even unarmed it will turn into a dirty nuke. www.nytimes.com/2023/10/02/video/russia-nuclear-missile.htmlNow no one wants a nuclear war, so we should just let Putin continue to test a nuclear device that failed so far the past 13 tests and could result in effectively a nuclear strike anywhere in the northern hemisphere.

Do we rename this thread to 'It's the end of the world we know it' and discuss the new war in Israel as well?

Basically a proxy war between the US and Russia. Putin arms Hamas, we arm Israel.

Who could have seen this coming?... I mean apart from anyone with a half functioning brain?
Hundreds of billions of dollars to ens up where you started, except with an incredible amount of death and suffering. I don't think wearing fake combat fatigues to the USA is going to fix this one.

Comer loses three more witnesses in Bidengate. These were the House GOP's three main witnesses in their case against Biden.
What is funny is the same things they are now facing charges for, are what the GOP are using as the backbone of their impeachment case against Joe Biden.
I assume they will claim that Joe was behind all of this while also being insane.

It's hard to believe that it's now 2 years since the War in Ukraine started with the Russian invasion of Ukraine beginning on the morning of 24 February 2022
Realistically, there is no end in sight. It's almost the forgotten war at this point with Middle Eastern conflict taking the focus away.
It comes as Latvia has reintroduced conscription, as The UK and other Nato allies have been urged to do the same as the war enters it's 3 year.

Russia has minimum 100,000 KIA in just two years. Ukraine has suffered a lot as well, but Russia just sends waves of under trained and under equipped troops into meat grinders.

Many of our Ukrainian newcomers have abandoned the idea of ever being able to return home at least not for maybe more than a visit after the war ends. If it ever does.
One said to me ‘what is the point? I return home and maybe war starts again and I go through this all over again like my grandparents so I will start a new life here if possible or somewhere else.’
We love them all so very much and while I cannot imagine never having met them, I am saddened by how it came about.

For those poor people who lived in the more devastated areas, having to return home to rubble and the ghosts of their families and friends would be a heart breaking experience.
It's why so many left Europe after The Second World War, as having to just pick up the pieces was painful.
I road a bike around my Grandfather's home town in The Netherlands, it was one memorial or plaque after another honouring the dead. Seeing your friends, neighbours and families names everywhere would squeeze the life out of you.

I have a new family coming in on Wednesday. A mother, her mom and her 16 year old son. I'm sure I don't have to spell out why they are leaving, but in case I do, they are starting to take boys as young as 16/17 to fight. The rent's here have gone up tremendously due to the influx of immigrants and Canadians from other less affordable provinces. I've been lucky to get some more donations of household goods, but still so much to get when all these people are starting over from scratch and they are not used to paying such prices for things. I don't even know why this war is still going on. Nor do they. And now with the terrible war/conditions in Gaza it's being overshadowed. IT's all so senseless to me. On a more positive note: my first two families (a mom/daughter & a lesbian couple & the ones' mom) are due to get their PR (permanent residency) by the end of this week.

So while there is a lot of hate for Trump, it is hard not to understand his point here: www.news.com.au/world/europe/donald-trump-slams-ukraine-for-refusing-to-make-a-deal-with-its-invader-russia/news-story/fae56a97269c16a300d425c6671a0c3bThe US has spent what is it, like $300 million in Ukraine and for what? There's a reasonable chance Putin would have stopped at the Donbas region and now the whole place has been turned to rubble anyway, so it is lost whichever way you look at it. People said in the other thread that weakening Russia at $300 million is a good return. Not sure everyone in the USA would agree, Trump's point was that other NATO member countries aren't pulling their weight and the Democrats instead have spent all this money on NATO interests, not US interests. Zelensky has a difficult path to tread with Harris and Trump in the lead up to the election.

The figure this time last year was $113 billion in taxpayer money spent on Ukraine, all told.
US thinks Russia is more valuable as an enemy than as an ally, and it obviously keeps the war machine going, allowing the arms industry to sell its products to NATO members to keep their militaries up to spec, but pushing the Russians towards China seems obviously dumb.

In much the same way as a hardline stance on China is pushing them towards invading Taiwan. As I keep saying the vitriole against Trump is also against RFK which shows that it's not about Trump being a terrible person (which he is) but that he's anti establishment... It's the money machine that runs the major parties. They all have to be neverous at MAGA and also the unhinged left turning on Israel, both are a serious problem to the Neocons

Definitely not saying that Russia is an innocent party, but this is what is running through my head on repeat this week with Biden sending missiles to Ukraine: It does seem like the Neocons want to push the conflict to a point of no return before Trump gets the White House. It is also interesting how well have placed Putin in the exact position Kennedy was put in with the Cuban Missile Crisis. I don't understand why this view isn't more main stream

This why we should have … *check notes* Allowed Russia to invade the Ukraine in an act of war with no intervention or resistance whatsoever. Did I get some folk’s perspective correct?
