AOC with a sharp statement denouncing the Hamas support celebration in NYC. Things be bad when the Squad telling people they are too far in supporting Palestine.
Almost certainly the Hamas celebrations are going to be shut the fuck down until the same policy nazi celebrations are in the US. Given it is almost certainly the same group celebrating both things not hard to understand why.
Gonna see a lot of whining about free speech, but most sane people can support Palestinians and not Hamas and realize if you do support Hamas, you are support a group committing overt terrorism.

300k now on the border of gaza while palestine claims the reason so much is burning is israel is dropping white phosphorus weapons, which are banned by the genova convention. This is also why so many people in Gaza are getting horrible burns, it continues to burn on contact with skin.
But the Genova convention was made of Israel so who cares if they break it.

Russia commenting the following is kind of strange...
" The Kremlin warned Wednesday that the Israel-Hamas conflict has the hallmarks of a "hot war" right now and could potentially be "very dangerous," especially on a humanitarian level.
"The situation is alarming, it is potentially very dangerous, dangerous with consequences, [including] of a humanitarian nature,” Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters Wednesday.
As Peskov noted, “after it is possible to bring [the conflict] out of the hot war phase, the period of searching for ways of a peaceful settlement will already begin," he said.
“It is too early to talk about [Russia’s] role in the actual settlement, because the conflict is at the stage of a hot war," he said.
Peskov appeared to criticize both Hamas and Israel, saying "we need to stop terrorist attacks. We need to stop the disproportionate use of force. We need to ensure the minimum needs of the population in Gaza," the Kremlin spokesman said.
"The fact is that now this area is completely closed ... [There is] a shortage of medicines, a shortage of beds in hospitals, a shortage of hospitals themselves. Which is now leading to very serious humanitarian problems "
- cnbc.com
Surely, a few moments after making these comments, Peskov was reminded of Russia's current and ongoing invasion of Ukraine. And because Russian lack humour, the irony was likely lost on Peskov.

Air alert map over northern Israel is just one large red dot right now. Sirens going off warning of incoming drone strikes. Apparently being launched from Lebanon by Hezbollah.
This is not good.

Yeah looking like Hezbollah is all in now. Wonder how the US will react as we told Iran to stay out of this.
Also weird to see muslim solidarity between Sunni and Shia factions.
///
Liberal activists students on college campuses rapidly learning you fuck around and you will find out after pro-Hamas protests are seeing people lose jobs, and colleges considering punitive action against students supporting terrorism. Pro-Palestine protests while getting some heat, are still being covered as general college activism. Pro-Hamas protesters however are not. And students will be getting expelled over as their rhetoric does rapidly move towards antisemitism as it has been a long time since ranting about Zionism has been acceptable given for the last 100 years that has been a loaded term used only in very specific contexts.
Again, pro-Palestine stuff, while some dislike, is generally allowed. Celebrating Hamas slaughtering Zionists, is not.
Also believed that behind many of pro-Hamas protests, are nazi and alt right groups who just are celebrating the slaughter of Jews, that then liberal activists are attaching to.

Safe corridor for people to flee Gaza right now blocked by Egypt who does not want Palestinians to be allowed to leave and enter their country. 300k now outside of Gaza and feels like the world is just looking away while Israel prepare for overt genocide.
International workers are being treated as Palestinians as well, and are also subject to the blockade. They we will be treated as accepted losses that were killed by Hamas forcing Israel into genocide.

God I love the Trump world response. Trump calls Hamas smart, and says Israel was weak with a leader who betrayed him and America. Meanwhile Kushner says the best thing Israel would hope for is Trump to be reelected. Kushner will not likely be returning to the White House after advising Ivanka to avoid her father and not support him during the legal proceedings.

US is encouraging citizens still in Gaza to make it to the Egyptian border for their own safety. Remember when the GOP screamed about a few citizens dying in Benghazi for a fucking decade? Now we are all cool with Israel killing every living US citizen in the Gaza stripe if they cannot make it to Egypt before they are blown up.
Full scale invasion of northern Gaza coming within hours it is believed. Tanks are being moved into position.
Israel goal is to remove Hamas for good. They claim Hamas is underground in Gaza, so very likely Israel will try to use bunker busters and fire to get rid of them.
There are zero plans to save any hostages.
So far Israel killed aid workers, journalists, bombed hospitals, and killed non-combatant citizens of several countries and used white phosphorus for those playing war crime bingo.
The world stands with Israel though in this genocide.

Israel is planning to basically kill every Palestinian they encounter claiming they are Hamas. From now on, Hamas is whatever they say it is. Still no word if the US will join in on the leveling of Gaza.
Belief is they will destroy everything in the no go zone, then annex it back to Israel and just fence in Palestinians in now the much smaller area of the Gaza strip. Anyone not in the safe zone, will be declared Hamas and killed.
They may repeat with the lower half of the Gaza Strip demanding they got to the West Bank or forcefully relocating them, then annexing the rest of the Gaza strip. Not be shocked if Israel tries to force the Gaza people to Egypt and West Bank to Jordan.

It is going to be awful.
I hope, that Israel takes a moment to consider what side of history they want to be on.
The deaths of innocent people in Gaza might be considered collateral damage now, but in time and if we've learnt anything from decades of foreign policy and chasing ghosts and shadows in The Middle East, it has consequences. Hence, why they're at war today.

There's still a war in Ukraine right?
Or did the world move on from the plight of the Ukrainians and the threat of Mother Russia and her nuclear weapons?
Oh..
Silly me, Ukrainians don't have power and influence.

UN claiming no more water in Gaza. If this is true, about 72 hours will see up to 2 million die.
Reported Israel is relaxing their rules of engagement, and allowing soldiers to fire without confirmation that they are shooting an enemy combatant.
And if anyone has problems with all this, US is moving a second strike team into the area to make sure the genocide goes according to plan.

There's a lot to suggest The Japanese were on their knees and ready to surrender.
Germany surrendered in May, 1945.. the bombs were dropped in August.
But, the world had turned its sights on Japan after their victory in Europe.. so do you engage in a bloody ground offensive and kill hundreds, thousands of soldiers and innocent people or just drop the bombs and get it over and done with?
But if Japan had any intention of calling it quits, they had 3 months to think about it after Germany fell.

They also did not surrender after the first nuke was dropped.
Japan believed we simply could not replicate the nuke strike. When we hit them again, and they learned the US could drop several more within a week they gave up.

Is there a difference between using a nuke and conventional weapons when it comes wiping out a population? The justification for nuking Japan has always been that it was humane as it shortened the war and saved more lives than it lost. It not hard to draw parallels to Israel going into Gaza, I'm not justifying either event I'm just constantly surprised how cyclical history is. I also wonder at times if the USA understands that they are like a pit bull on a leash that Israel is hiding and the only reason Israel gets away with being such a crap country to their neighbours. If Israel does go biblical on Gaza and starts levelling it with a huge loss of Muslim life it's going to stir up some feelings, not sure even the friendly Arab nations will be able to control the sentiments of their people.

Japan wanted to negotiate a conditional surrender but held out since the USA wanted unconditional. Japan only surrendered to the US when USSR broke their non-aggression pact and declared war on Japan.

Why we are moving the carriers. Almost certain when they make a move on Gaza someone else attacks Israel. Well, in addition to Hezbollah.
Overnight news is basically the GOP trying to gets things in order to justify war with Iran. Graham said he will introduce a resolution next week to allow the US to take military against Iran if they enter the conflict. Normally be a pretty big thing. But the US still has no House of Reps because the GOP cannot pick a speaker and closed the House indefinitely over it since they do not even trust GOP members to show up to vote for a speaker anymore.
But still, GOP been wanting more Middle East fighting since it moves weapons for their sponsors, and likely will use this conflict to justify it. And Iran done fucked up by supporting Russia. We also froze the money we were to give them for a prisoner swap.
///
As for WWII, the alternative to nuclear strikes, was to continue the original plan which was firebombing cities. Operation Meetinghouse Raid killed more people in one night than died in both nuclear blasts. Japan's plan originally was to force an invasion of mainland Japan that they would fend off to break ally morale.
Japan was fantastically loyal to the emperor during this period, and there was no reasoning with the Japanese people. They gladly would die for thim, or commit atrocities in his name, ala Unit 731. And gonna find few that really believe the actions the US took were entirely unjust, as the US planned to sit out WWII. Then Japan personally attacked us. That was the only thing that would bring us into the war. We knew the holocaust was taking place and said naw dawg you all can deal with that shit yourselves.
For a comparison of loss of life, the US plan to end the way without using the nukes was operation Downfall, the largest military maneuver in human history invading two of the main Japanese islands. Believed if this happened the Japanese people would fight to the death and need to be eradicated basically. Numbers would have been like 6 to 10 million dead, with a potential to go far higher if Japanese evolved suicide attacks.

If a company was to hire a person with a history of supporting Palestine, the company would be labelled anti-Sematic by the ADL. Nobody can afford that in today's ESG environment. Prescribed speech isn't free speech. Also I wish to denounce some of the language and views I have seen at the Pro-Palestine protests. I do not think it is okay to ban such protests though. I am always appealing to the slippery slope, but I feel that the right to protest is more important than any other consideration.

I have not seem many get banned for supporting Israel. I seen a lot get shit for backing Hamas to eliminate Israel.
And have no clue what this all have to do with investing in environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and corporate governmentally accountable causes.
Nor do I see any government cracking down on speech supporting Palestine that allows free press. Freedom of speech is only freedom from government action due to speech. People are free to say any take they want is stupid if you make it in a public forum. And businesses are not considered part of the government so publicly making statements in them allow your bosses to make their own public speech in firing you.

Biden is on his way to Israel it is reported.
Iran has threatened to get involved, and vowing action within hours should Israel launch a ground offensive in Gaza.
The alarming remarks came shortly after the Israeli Defence Force confirmed it has begun striking Hezbollah terrorist targets in Lebanon.
Some 2000 American troops have been ordered to “prepare to deploy” as American warships head to the region it has been reported.
A rapid response force from the US Marines will join a larger group of warships and personnel that American officials hope sends a message to Iran and Lebanon militant group Hezbollah.
The Wall Street Journal and CNN both quoted sources as saying the 2000 troops are preparing to offer medical and logistical support.

It is also massively risky for the USA, anything happens to Biden from religious fanatics on either side and we have WW3 no questions asked. USA moving troops to the region can also be seen as ratcheting up tensions in the area.
