Silly Iran thought they could attack Israel forgetting about the Jewish Space Laser that protects them.

What the Jewish Space Laser actually is, is some believe the Iron Dome is actually space satellites arms with anti-missile lasers, which is also what they believe the US Star Wars project was.  They believe the tech was diverted from the US to Israel.

I just remember a heated discussion we all had about smoking weed back about 12 years ago, people were pretty hostile about it saying I would be dead in 5 years, now I'm 39 and approaching perhaps the best shape I've ever been in, I feel like Randy Couture 1997 right now. And still burning every day(I did take a break for a year or so 2020-2021). The mood towards the herb is way lighter on PW these days.

The problem back then was so much smoking weed, it was the people on the forum who felt smoking weed was the cure for everything, while we were actively watching their lives falling apart.  Like it was never the well adjusted people who were loudly pro-marijuana, or those with any form of self-restraint.  

And things changed too with the move towards legalization.  People not smoking unwashed shit packaged by street dealers cut with who knows what to label it as a higher quality weed than it was.  Still a ton of misconceptions about safety, as we are finding out you get can really fucked up consuming too much of it, and have some documented deaths now people are honest about their use.  But on the old board, mention there were any drawbacks to heavy marijuana smoking and the usual suspects would say you crazy.

Not so sure about that. I not seen many democrats defending Sen Menendez as he heads into trial. Quite the opposite really, many are pissed he is still sitting in congress and cannot wait until he goes to jail.

Meanwhile the other side is screaming Trump trails' and the Gaetz's investigation are a political witch hunts and they should have political immunity from all charges.

Dems joke the only thing dems loves more than attacking the GOP is attacking other dems. Mainline vs progressive fight has been going on for some time in the party.

I think many on the right want people to believe both side are just as tribal, but you do not see liberals treating Biden as they do Trump. Like there is no one claiming Hunter should have his charges dropped because it is a witch hunt and no one is buying a Joe Biden bible believing he was sent from God to save America.  Even with liberals, Biden is controversial as most simply do not like him at all and only support him because he beat Trump before.  I like what he managed to get done in the end, but he was not who I backed in the 2020 primary, or even in my top 3.  This is a far cry from what you see from the Trump supporters here.  Kid is not casting a vote for his 4th place guy, he is voting for who exactly who he wants to win.

When Trump was president we were looking for alternatives to toilet paper <.< Trump may have been good during business as usual but he handled COVID like shit and PPP was an utter disaster that seen widespread fraud come as a result.

Most inflation we now know was merely opportunist profiteering during the pandemic recovery. Record profits are being seen by companies as they continue to rise prices. Nothing in Trump's policy would slow this. No Biden plan directly could either I seen. Windfall taxes would, as would limiting stock buybacks, but there is no stomach to pass these in the US.

Trump primary response was to claim every week or so it would just go away, rather than create any meaningful plans to deal with it.  Most predicted the path right.  It was hit hard and mutate but we would create a vaccine that would tame it and things would go back to normal.  Which is what we did.  

Trump if he said what experts were saying, that we need to just minimize deaths until his vaccine came out, likely would have been remembered as a hero during COVID since he did succeed in getting the vaccine out, and stalled widespread collapse in the US long enough until we got back to normal.  Instead he said that it would just go away and rallied against all measures to suppress deaths and is remembered more for his idiotic statements like injecting bleach or putting a light into your ass.  So now the perception is the US endured despite him.

He only wanted to shut them down to Asian and Muslim countries.  Would have done nothing to stop the spread as it was already in NY at the time.  By the time anyone heard of COVID people made it to NYC.

Here’s what I will concede - and what more liberals need to - Biden has 1000% failed on border control. It’s atrocious where we were.

A “wall” was always stupid, but we need to invest in border security asap.

I can attest to this. As a purchaser, I saw certain companies using COVID as an excuse to create supply and demand and drive the prices even higher. I saw some things go up 400%. Some of them are still using raw materials or labor shortages as an excuse. It's 2024 if you are still having labor and raw material issues, you need new management. That's how I know it's coming from the top. The issue for us is the few companies that are still doing this know that they have the market cornered and their items are 'spec'd in' so there's no recourse. That's how they are able to get away with it. As for labor, they aren't hiring new workers to make up for the demand -deposit saying they are-because we have no choice but to wait so why bother. This way it keeps even more money in the CEO's/Investors pockets.

Supermarkets ( in Oz ) purchasing less product, particularly fresh locally grown produce and claiming and advertising an apparent " shortage " in the market. Despite growers having an abundance of stock. Deliberate supply chain " issues " apparently the robots took the month off from the automated warehouses, then " there's no drivers " because the apparent fleet is Fijian apparently, yet despite never meeting a Fijian driver. Indian, yes. Then 2 days into the Ukraine Invasion, the price of produce goes up, because " war " despite claiming 97% of fresh produce is Australian grown. Then to clarify " it's a lack of Ukrainian fertiliser " yeap... ok. Rightio. Two days in... yeap, sure.

The greatest tell is many US companies straight out said they were freezing price increases in 2020, but planned for large ones in 2021. Then 2021 came and they raised prices to the levels they said they would and people acted shocked and blamed Biden.  But the plans were made under Trump to increase prices, so how the fuck was Biden at fault?

Many companies told shareholders in the past few years that the record profits were the results of aggressive pricing.  I am not sure how you blame Biden for this outside of him being too weak to push windfall and wealth taxes, but those are considered socialism and not like Trump or anyone else in US politics would have went there.

I've been following this thread since post and wanted to contribute but don't really know how and feel like certain remarks would feel borderline racist (i.e. maybe the west needs a serious THE TALK about immigration and integration?). I went on a rant a while back regarding Australia's house crisis. The left wing government has an almost open door policy, inviting people to Australia to stimulate the economy. It has resulted in a housing shortage. Because there's only so many houses.

Supply v demand has pushed the price of a home up much higher due to increased competition between buyers. Combined with high interest rates and power prices, everyone suffers as they pass on the costs.

In the US it is highly racist. We get constant stories about a migrant crime wave, despite violent crime dropping in the US. Also there have been many politicians getting caught asking why we cannot be allow good migrants into the country from European countries, instead of hispanic migrants, who are presented as drug dealers and violent criminals.  Muslim, African and Asian migrants are all seen negatively in the US.  But European ones are "nice."  The sole difference in these groups are skin color.

Have we reached a plateau with regards to infinite population growth? Every generation has less kids and it's becoming almost a luxury to be in a position to have them. But I guess they just hit the immigration button rather than change how we operate. Short term solution that has fast consequences when there's no effort to become part of the country.
